The Firex story: Enhancing tradition through technology
Twenty years ago, Italian chefs were faced with the challenge of preserving their culinary traditions as they moved beyond the bistro to larger catering services. The ability to bring authentic, high-level cuisine to larger markets was a matter of national pride.
A small group of Italian food service experts heard the call, and Firex was born. The team of innovators began to design cooking equipment that could scale high-level cuisine to the industrial kitchen. By automating key elements of the cooking process, Firex was able to increase capacity while giving chefs more control over results than ever before possible.

Over time, Firex has continued to leverage the latest advances in technology to speed cooking times, control temperature, reduce labor, and enhance kitchen safety. In 2019, Firex joined the Middleby Corporation, the world’s leading producer of commercial food service equipment, to ensure our products could reach new markets in commercial food service.
Thanks to this partnership, a growing number of operations around the globe, from centralized kitchens to cafeterias, now rely on Firex products to simplify their operations while taking ensuring a high level of quality and consistency.

A small group of innovators, each with more than 20 years’ experience in industrial food service, found Firex.

1997
After two intense years of research and development, Firex takes part in its first international fair.

2000
Firex launches a new processing department, doubling production.

2004
Firex obtains the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 certificate.

2005
The Chamber of Commerce in Italy awards Firex the Marco Polo award for “Significant contribution to the development of trade in the international markets.”

The 10 million euro threshold has been reached.

15,000 units installed.

The new wing of the west plant dedicated to R&D and sales is inaugurated. 90 countries are supplied.

Despite the global economic crisis, Firex confirms its growing positive trend.

Firex’s Cucimix wins the Innovative Water/Energy Saving Equipment Award at the Asian Catering Equipment (ACE) Awards.
