My name is Pepijn Vandebotermet and I am co-founder and CEO of Frans & Bertha bv. We are a production site operating in Veurne, Belgium since 4 years with our main focus on producing fresh sauces and products in an auto-pasteurisation process with a DLC of approximately 40-50 days. Hereunder a small overview of our product range:

Our production site is 1440 m², we have 6 FTE’s of which 2 fixed in production, producting approximately 20 – 25 tons of finished product per week.
Our company is a co-op between a spaghetti fast-casual “Bavet” operating since 9 years and their production partner “Versmarkt Delva”. Bavet has big plans on growing fast in the fast-casual world and they integrated vertically into to process by joining the investment of the production side of their concept.
The challenge for Frans & Bertha BV
The challenges we’ve faced during our start-up phase were huge due to COVID-19 and the financial crisis who involved huge increases in price and big pressure on our competitiveness in the market. The challenges ahead are our goal to break open the retail market with a new and innovative packaging with 82% less plastic per kg sauce packed in it.

The machines help us to cook our recipes in a constant way in order to deliver a day to day top and fresh end product to our customers.
We would buy other machines for sure since we like the co-operation with the company doing the technical follow up of our kettles and the nice follow up from Firex with bigger questions. If bigger kettles (500 – 1000 liters) would exist, we would also buy one of those for sure!
