Rivalta Food: our history
Founded in 2015, the company has completely changed the food industry sector using an innovative approach to the production of ready meals and to the gastronomy world.
Rivalta Food got the idea from Coop Consorzio Nord Ovest, who had a clear objective: centralize the producion of gastronomy dishes in one single building. Until then, each Coop shop either prepared their own dishes in-house or sourced them from external suppliers. Not only was this method time and resource consuming, but it also often caused a great difference in taste between the ready-made products of the different shops.
The solution? To build a separate facility dedicated to the production of ready-meals, offering high-quality and affordable products. Working together with COOP Consorzio Nord Ovest, Rivalta Food were able to select the best ingredients and use the know-how of the cooperatives to make home-styled recipes.
Rivalta Food HQ are located in Rivalta Scrivia, in the province of Alessandria; the premises cover 5000 mq and the company has 40 employees. They prepare:
- around 50 different recipes,
- over 100 products,
- 25/30 saisonal or typical festivity-related dishes,
- Every year, around 900.000 kg of food come out of this plant!
The challenge for Rivalta Food Spa
The food industry has changed a lot over the last few years. The ever-growing demand of main dishes and ready-meals and the increasing take-away food trend have forced companies to revise their production and technology strategies. Rivalta Food is no exception and in fact, the company wanted to develop and try a new approach that could support its new production needs.

In this context, Rivalta Food S.p.A. stood out for their ability to adapt to the needs of the market; they have enriched their menu without compromising on the quality of the food. This success was achieved also with the support of Firex technologies. The equipment has proven to be fully capable of adapting to new requests and it is also very flexible: you can easily make new recipes, follow new processes and try new ethnic and healthy options. The company has given a new life to as many as 11 units, bought back in 2015.
